This weekend while the Mr. and I were browsing a granite yard, we came across a piece with a nice black vein and it reminded me that designers always say that every room should have a hit of black. Maybe it's the bleak weather from the weekend, or the fact that Hallowe'en's on its way (my neighbourhood is weirdly into halloween house decor...or maybe me and the mr. are weirdly NOT into Halloween house decor? But pretty much every other house is decorated - already). I digress...here are some hints of black to top off your Monday:

I am drooling over the black pendant lights. If you have never done this you have to drive over to the Beach and hit the new subdivision at Queen & Woodbine. There are a bunch of movie folks that live there and every year they hire out their crews to create scenes on their front lawns. My friend lives on one of the streets and last year closed her door after 700 kids visited.
A touch of black always adds some glam! I also really love the chalkboard candles.. what a great idea!
